Special Education Programs at Alpha School
Certified teachers assisted by trained paraprofessionals provide individualized and small group instruction in a small class setting. A multi-sensory approach is used with individualized and modified techniques. A wide variety of materials are used to help each child to reach his or her full academic potential.
From our range of academic, life skills, technology (STEM), support, and transition services, Alpha's School’s goal is to harness the best from our special needs students in New Jersey.
Academic Programs

Our academic programs range across multiple subjects such as literacy/reading, handwriting, social studies, science, math, language arts, music therapy, art, career education, social skills, and physical education.
Life Skill Programs

At Alpha School we offer a wide range of programs for everyday living including but not limited to ADL activities such as personal hygiene, laundry skills, cooking skills and prevocational skills.
Technology Programs

Here at Alpha School we utilize a variety of technologies used in different teaching styles through white boards with Mimeo Systems, iPads, personal and classroom FM systems, in addition to our Alpha School personal robot “Alphabot”.
In addition, here at Alpha School, we integrate various STEM lessons and tools such as Makey Makey, Ozobot, and Gravity Maze.
Support Services Programs

Alpha School features occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, counseling, and nursing services. Our behavioral support services includes consultation with a certified BCBA.
Transition Programs

Alpha School provides mandated and essential “school-to-work” transition services for 14– to 21–year–old students. Our school employs a dedicated Work-Based Learning Coordinator.
